Katy Hall, Facility Manager
Katy Hall graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2013, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she immediately began the Kinesiology graduate program at UW. She will be completing her Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science, with an emphasis in Exercise and Sport Psychology in December of 2016. Katy is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSCS. While attending UW, she competed for five years for the cowgirl’s track and field team primarily as a 60–meter and 100–meter hurdler. During her time as a Cowgirl, she was able to achieve honors on the track and in the classroom as both a Mountain West All Conference team member and Mountain West Scholar Athlete. Katy is excited to be a part of Altitude Fitness because she has a profound passion for training and conditioning because of her own personal experiences and wants to share that with others. Her passion for athletics is what drives her to help others achieve their goals.
Alice Hovis, Shift Manager
Alice is from La Grange, Wyoming and moved to Laramie in 2012 for a higher education. She graduated in 2016 from the University of Wyoming with her BA in Art and a minor in Museum Studies, and is currently pursuing her BS in Business Management- Human Resources, with her ultimate goal being to earn her MBA. She enjoys hiking and sunshine, volunteer work, and observing art as well as being able to draw and paint as a hobby. Notably, Alice picked up and moved to Anchorage, Alaska for a time where she got her fill of adventure but eventually missed the great City of Laramie. She says she is so excited to be in this position where she can develop as a leader, challenge herself with the support of the other amazing employees, and come to a gym every day. Alice adds that she loves working for people that are so well known for helping people in the community and that her workplace environment makes her feel peaceful, empowered, and capable.
Jalayna Straniere, Shift Manager
Jalayna came to Laramie from Topeka Kansas in the fall of 2020. Though born and raised in Kansas, she and her husband, Phil, moved to Laramie so he could attend WyoTech. Jalayna has a Business Management Certificate from Allen County Community College and was seeking a culture of community. She enjoys hiking, hunting, riding her horse and spending time with her family. Her vision for her future is to own a small ranch.She has found Wyoming to be comfortingly familiar and her small family has settled in nicely. Jalayna is excited to be part of the AF team and continue to grow here!
Tariq is originally from Maryland and came to Laramie to play basketball at the University of Wyoming. His time as a player has come to an end, but he continues to work with the program as an Undergrad Strength Coach for the Men’s Basketball team. Tariq will be graduating a year early with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has been on the Dean’s list and the Mountain West All-Academic Team in recognition of his academic excellence. He has a passion for fitness and is currently a Lululemon Affiliate Fitness Model and working on obtaining his Precision Nutrition Certification. In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball, hiking, working out, cooking, and filming/photography.
Brice is originally from Torrington, Wyoming. He is currently attending the University of Wyoming in pursuit of his bachelor’s degree in physical education. Before joining the team, Brice was a member at Altitude Fitness for over a year, and decided that he wanted to work for the best gym in Laramie! His favorite part about Altitude Fitness is the community. “The staff and the members are always super friendly and supportive of everyone!” Brice is very passionate about exercise and enjoys hiking, weight training, swimming, video games, and hanging out with his friends on the weekends. Brice adds that he is super excited to see what doors lie ahead of him during his time at AF
Falen grew up in Gillette, Wyoming and came to Laramie to study Kinesiology and Health Promotion. She is proud of being accepted into the UW Honors Program. During the 2020 COVID Quarantine, Falen was an intern and worked diligently to serve the gym and it’s members. When Falen isn’t being a star teammate, she is hiking, traveling and playing with her dog, Sunny. She is enthusiastic about her future in personal training and wellness work. Altitude Fitness is extremely grateful to have her as a team member.
