Katy Hall, Facility Manager
Katy Hall graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2013, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she immediately began the Kinesiology graduate program at UW. She will be completing her Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science, with an emphasis in Exercise and Sport Psychology in December of 2016. Katy is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSCS. While attending UW, she competed for five years for the cowgirl’s track and field team primarily as a 60–meter and 100–meter hurdler. During her time as a Cowgirl, she was able to achieve honors on the track and in the classroom as both a Mountain West All Conference team member and Mountain West Scholar Athlete. Katy is excited to be a part of Altitude Fitness because she has a profound passion for training and conditioning because of her own personal experiences and wants to share that with others. Her passion for athletics is what drives her to help others achieve their goals.
Marten is strength and conditioning coach with a passion for Olympic Weightlifting and optimizing human biomechanics. He is a certified personal trainer through the American Counsel of Exercise and has received certifications ranging from CrossFit level 1 trainer, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and Bioforce Certified Conditioning Coach. He has also completed a 100 hour internship with USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame Coach Bob Takano, gaining a deeper understanding of the classical lifts, strength training, and program design. Marten’s interest in pain-free movement and performance optimization shows through his programming and coaching style. Originally from Lander, Wyoming, Marten moved to Laramie to pursue higher education. He is currently finishing two Bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology and Physiology at the University of Wyoming. After graduation, he hopes to continue his education at physical therapy school. Marten is excited to teach what he is passionate about, and is proud to be a part of the Altitude Fitness team. He enjoys the opportunity to impact the health of the Laramie community and learn more about himself in the process. He enjoys outdoor activities (backpacking, mountain biking, climbing, mountaineering), playing music, and training for weightlifting competitions.
Celsey Meyer, Assistant Manager
Celsey is from Hanna, WY and originally moved to Laramie for school. Celsey enjoys working out, fishing, hunting, and playing baseball. He is currently studying for a CPT exam and then plans to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and obtain his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. Celsey became a member of Altitude Fitness shortly after we opened and really enjoyed the staff and atmosphere, leading him to pursue becoming a part of our team. Celsey is excited to be working at “his gym” and sees it as a great opportunity to learn more about health and fitness.
Lauren, originally from Denver, came to Laramie to pursue a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering with a minor in business. She has a passion for fitness and the outdoors, and she enjoys hiking, camping and skiing. She is also training to compete in a future NPC figure competition. After she graduates, she hopes to get a career in the oilfield. Lauren is excited to join the AF team because “I’ve had a passion for fitness and health for about 2 years and I’m excited to be surrounded by like-minded people trying to better themselves, and push their limits.”
Tariq is from College Park, Maryland and came to Laramie to play basketball for the University of Wyoming, where he studies psychology. After his first year here in Laramie, Tariq accomplished maintaining a 4.0 GPA, making the Dean’s list, as well as being recognized as a Men’s Basketball Leadership Team representative. Not only does he work hard and devote himself as a student, he does as an athlete as well- having basketball and working out as his main hobbies. His future plans are to graduate early his junior year and go to graduate school in Texas to work towards his doctorate in psychology. Tariq is excited to be a part of this team and build great relationships, as well as being able to work in a nice facility and help build the culture here.
RJ is originally from Riverton, Wyoming and came to Laramie to continue his education at the University of Wyoming. He got his B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion with a minor in Psychology and has been accepted into the Doctoral Occupational Therapy school at UND. In the future, RJ will attend UND as a graduate student and become a certified Occupational Therapist. Outside of school, RJ enjoys putting time into exercise and health, music festivals, and having fun with his friends, cat, and dog. He is excited to work here because of great co-workers, great environment, and new beginnings.
Jackson moved to Laramie from southern Illinois to attend the University of Wyoming and play football. Notably, he received a full scholarship to play for the University of Wyoming, reflecting his athletic accomplishments and drive. Outside of football, Jackson enjoys playing guitar, watching basketball, and watching movies. His future plans include finishing his bachelor’s degree at UW and continuing to pursue football. He is excited to be apart of the Altitude Fitness team because his sense of how tight-knit it is at this gym between the staff and coaches.
